And from the very first time we met with Marijanel, it was clear that she was extremely kind, caring, enthusiastic and passionate about photography. Marijanel strives to really get to know both the bride and groom's individual personalities, as well as the relationship as a whole and she uses this to take the most intimate and detailed pictures that depict their day. She is professional and hard working and her photography is absolutely beautiful. Marijanel was able to capture so many special moments that occurred during our day, without us even realizing she was taking a picture. She helped us feel at ease and comfortable to just be together and enjoy our time during the romantic shoot. The lighting, background and color in her photographs are amazing. We have had many friends and family say that our photos are likely the best they have ever seen. And I could not have asked for a more enthusiastic or willing photographer. You see I had this plan to suprise my groom with a helicopter that would pick us up after the ceremony and take us out to are reception site. Well of course I wanted to document this with photos and Marijanel jumped at the chance. She even came to the safety instruction with me and kept it all a secret the whole way through. And we had phenominal pictures I might add. Marijanel didn't tell me until later she was a bit scared of the whole helicopter idea, but she did amazing job. Marijanel really and truly went out of her way and swallowed her own fears to make sure my husband and I got all those perfect shots. That is a testimony of just how far Marijanel will go to make your day perfect. Thank you Marijanel you were the best, and I have had nothing but compliments on all of my beautiful photos. -Jessica November 2008 When Neil and I finally decided on a wedding date, we had three months to plan it. Since the wedding was going to take place in Kelowna and we lived in the Edmonton area, I did a lot of the planning on-line. I searched the websites for photographers in the Kelowna area and hired Marijanel purely based on the photos on her web page. I wanted a creative photographer and I could see both by her photographs and her blog that Marijanel loved what she did. I did not meet Marijanel and her husband Steve (also a great photographer and her assistant that day) until the afternoon of our wedding. It was a small family wedding and I found Marijanel both accommodating and easy to work with. The end result was beautiful pictures which received a lot of positive comments from both family, friends and co-workers. We have no regrets hiring such a talented photographer. -Shelley October 2008 I first met Marijanel for a pregnancy photo shoot, and having no previous photography experience, was a little bit nervous about the situation. I had no idea how to pose, or how often to move around, or what kind of expressions I should have. My idea of having a picture taken consisted of those two famous words: “say cheese!” Marijanel put all those fears to rest. She was so personable and open and laid-back about the day that I felt no pressure and soon began to really enjoy myself. My expectations for the day were fully met and even exceeded and I left there feeling more beautiful than I had ever felt before. I was so impressed by the quality of Marijanel’s services, that I requested her to do a family shoot after my baby was born. When I recommend Marijanel’s work to other people, I don’t tell them about the beautiful pictures (although they really are beautiful); I tell them that it will be an experience they will never forget! -Rebecca September 2008 After deciding to quickly throw together a wedding with less than two months of planning, finding a perfect photographer seemed like it would be an impossible task! I looked online at so many photographers’ online albums, which all melted together. Except for Marijanel’s! I loved the fact there was nothing ordinary about her work or her eye, no portraits, and that her work was timeless, exactly what I was searching for. She was a dream to work with; her ideas are fresh, beautiful, innovative and modern. Her husband was awesome too; they are such a great team. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her and her work. I think the true test of what a wonderful photographer (and person) she is, would be this, I can look at our outstanding album after the fact and feel like I’m back in that special day. She captured every magically moment and emotion so authentically. Also that everyone from our family to our next-door neighbours who have seen our photos rave how beautiful and wonderful they are. And how they are the best wedding photographs they have ever seen. I have given out Marijanel’s contact information numerous times to people wanting to work with her just from seeing our album! Not to mention she went way beyond on the call of just a photographer on our wedding day, she was a lifesaver in so many other ways! We are expecting our first baby in Feb 09’ and I have ever intent of travelling back to Kamloops so Marijanel can capture our joy! In the end Marijanel became our friend and not just the photographer we hired. =) -Nicola August 2008 I got married August, 2008, and had never had professional photography done before. Being very camera shy, I was dreading the photography part of the wedding. I met with Marijanel and explained my worries and by asking questons and listening to me, she set my mind at ease. We saw our pictures online and my husband and I were so touched that she captured our day so perfectly. I immediately loved her work and recognized her ability to capture special moments through her photos. I contacted her about having some engagement photos done, and was pleasantly surprised by her quick response. Marijanel not only worked around our busy schedule, she also accommodated our budget and location. Through only email, Marijanel was able to determine exactly what we were looking for and provide a fun-filled day of photos. Having not done professional photos before, my fiance and I were a little apprehensive and awkward at first, but Marijanel's professionalism and wonderful personality put us at ease, allowing for some wonderful shots. She had great locations already arranged and provided us with backgrounds that totally fit with our style and personalities. Within a week, we had all of our prints and a CD of the negatives in our mail box. If you are looking for someone who is professional, energetic, and will take breath-taking photographs, Marijanel is right for you! -Kerri May 2008 Bill and I live in California and decided on a very quiet and private wedding in British Columbia. Our pastor friend who married us, recommended Marijanel, and we asked him to reserve her for our wedding day. We did not meet her until an hour before the ceremony. She was an absolute delight to work with and she totally captured the essence of that special day. Her pictures in the apple orchards and on the pier are magical. We had a celebration party with over 100 people a few weeks after our wedding and people raved about the pictures. They commented over and over how stunning the pictures are and how it is so obvious how much in love we are. I looked through several photographer's portfolios and while they were mostly quite good, Marijanel's photos really stood out to me. Marijanel Knight and her husband Steve were our photographers for the day. They did an amazing job, we absolutely loved our pictures! They were very enjoyable to have around on our wedding day, and we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves, even when they were around snapping pictures. They made us feel very comfortable and relaxed about the whole picture taking, none of it was staged or stiff. After the ceremony we received several comments on how they didn't even know that the photographer was there and on how the photographer never even got in the way.
